Research Experience

• Working on the development of correction devices for infants with cranial deformities and scoliosis with Wisconsin Children's Hospital. (2021- )

• Specialized in biomedical engineering and healthcare economics both in the senior project and elective class with professional skills in structural Design and Optimization (2021-)

• Participated in the research project on EMG signals and prostheses undertaken by Imperial College of Science and

  Technology, UK. (2021)

Education Project

Design of 3D printed brace for scoliosis correction for senior design project

With the help of engineering-based analysis, 3D scanning, and printing technology, this research project aims to collaborate with the Children's Hospital of Wisconsin, which is renowned for its knowledge of Milwaukee Braces and related treatments and orthopedic corrections, to streamline the brace manufacturing process. This will increase the brace's functionality while considerably reducing the cost of production.

• Undertook an examination of the various plastic materials' physical characteristics and structural design strength elements

• Established braces for 3D printing using a variety of mortise and tenon designs to accommodate varied body sizes and heights.

• Improved the brace's overall lattice topology and mesh model from 3D scanning of human 3D bodies up to modeling level, calculating the brace's proper thickness through additional finite element analysis, and calculating the degree of deformability using home-built testing equipment

Other Project

Project 1(2021): Development of the upgrade programs based on the "Third Arm" project

Following an online course on artificial prosthetics at Imperial College of London, the efforts included several research directions, including:

• A mobile VR device simulation using a robotic arm and the Unity game engine

• The first investigation into gyroscope algorithms

• Using basic PID control and the control theory expertise gained in college, the original servo was replaced by a DC motor, theoretically increasing wearer comfort by lowering the rate of change of acceleration

Project 2(2019): Reverse engineering of Milwaukee Tools' products and Heat exchanger design of Harley Davison

The study results are mainly included:

• The company's garden sprinklers were reverse engineered to determine their internal structure and shape as part of a study assignment for a modeling class. The product was then remodeled using highly accurate measurements

• The shell and tube heat exchanger were created as a personal project by using the information from the heat transfer lesson to heat or cool the operating fluid

Project 3(2022): Design, Fluid Simulation, and Optimization of Tesla Valve

• The project has involved the use of Computational Fluid Dynamic method based on Ansys Fluent, to simulate how the corner angle affect the efficiency of Tesla Valve.

• The project has required the comprehensive skills in CAD modeling, fluid experiment design, and theoretical verification with validation of the experimental results.

Project 4 (2022):   Theoretical study of the principles of myoelectric signal generation and detection in biophysics

   • Influenced by a course at Imperial College London, one year of self-study on the generation of myoelectric signals in biophysics and how to detect them from an electrical engineering perspective

   • An academic presentation on related courses at Milwaukee School of Engineering

Project 5(2020): Analysis of tuning fork manufacturing and vibration frequency

• Accurate computation and development of the topological simulation of Finite Element Analysis for the temperature distribution of metal solidification

• Analysis of the variety in metallic materials and forms' effects on tuning the fork resonance frequency

• Handling metal smelting and pouring in a practical manner

Project 6(2022): Game controller industry chain design and related market analysis

• Assembly line manufacturing process of electronic devices

• Business model canvas, competitive products, and potential users’ analysis

• Enterprise staff and factory operation management

• Analysis of global industrial supply chain status

Project 7(2019): Laser etching machine system construction project

• Transferred the bitmap stored in the computer to the Arduino

• Made the controller move the laser device in Two Dimensions by two steppers motors and control its power

• Etched the image on the plane made with wood or some type of metals

Project 8(1017): Basic face recognition sign-in system and related computer science-related project

• Basic knowledge of web interaction and the ability to write programs by borrowing Unity's server, in the language of C# and JavaScript

• The basic programing skill of Python through the face recognition project, and Java from the AP computer science examination

• Have basic skills in web design and user interface design

Order is based on the importance of the project related to major class
